The SY-1 is a legendary percussive synthesizer with a clear signature sound yet it is also extremely vast sonically. Unless it's a lush polyphonic pad that you want, this thing can probably do it. I've recorded more samples than usual to try and cover a variety of sounds, but with a focus on usability as always. These samples can be more or less plug and play and you'll get a loop going quick with just a few FX (see demo 2); or you can completely destroy them and have fun creating something new (see demo 1). This was an instrument that was marketed to drummers when it came out in 1979 (!) so they made it velocity sensitive (it came with drum pads). Velocity still is a big part of its sound so I tried to keep a maximum of dynamics in the samples (especially the loops). You're free to compress the sh*t out of them but if you want the dynamics, they are here. The syncussion is also a clicky beast; so don't be too surprised if there are a few clicks here and there (on loops especially).

I love this box, it's a mean bleepy techno machine !

nb: this was recorded using a Michigan Synth Works version of the SY-1, not the original. It's a true 1:1 analogue clone except with separate outputs for each channel and midi.

Upon purchasing, there is a .pdf file with a link to the samples folder.
